Christian libertarianism is a belief system1 that attempts to harmonize core Christian faith and ethics with a libertarian political philosophy.

Some of the key concepts are as follows:

  1. We have eternal life if we believe that Jesus Christ died for us.
  2. We should obey God rather than man.
  3. We should not initiate the use of force against others.
  4. We should not use government as a tool to initiate force against others.
  5. We are civilly justified in using force only to defend ourselves and our property.
  6. We should obey government laws when they do not conflict with God's law.

We apologize if you are a Christian libertarian and we have misrepresented your own definition of what that means. Contact Us if you think you have a better way of wording this brief general definition of Christian libertarianism.
